Jon Preston is a Dallas based filmmaker providing creative solutions for production needs from location shooting to color finishing. Jon graduated from the Theatre Art program at ASU in 1972 and was inducted into the national honors fraternity Alpha Psi Omega. He has worked as set designer / lighting director for CBN, lighting director and camera operator for WFAA, ABC sports, and ABC television. Jon spent 10 years in network television honing his production skills. In 1981 Jon co-founded Bandera Productions where he produced, wrote and directed syndicated Music Video shows. With groundbreaking animation and graphics the shows pioneered the VJ-Music Video format, and helped facilitate the growth of the music video industry. Jon worked on videos for Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson, Peter Tosh, MC 900 ft. Jesus and numerous others. Jon has worked on commercial, documentary, short narrative and feature film projects as Director Of Photography, Editor, Camera Operator, Color Correction and Grading, Still Photographer, and Lighting as well as Producer and Director. His love of music was rewarded when asked to work on the Grammy winning “Last of the Great Mississippi Bluesmen” (Live in Dallas).
